SINGING FOR A CURE
Tranquility Day Spa & Salon Sponsors Impact the Cure Concert to
Help Raise Funds for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

MANASSAS, Va., -- Ashley Allen, team leader at Manassas-based Tranquility Day Spa & Salon lost her father to cancer last year. Since then, she’s been committed to helping find the cure for cancer and created the Impact the Cure concert to be held on Sat., April 26 at Stonewall Jackson High School (8820 Rixlew Ave.) in Manassas, Va. at 3 p.m. with the concert to begin at 5 p.m. Singing groups like Eleventyseven (who opened for internationally- renowned Gwen Stefani), Our Hearts Hero, Shades of Grey and One Lord A Leapin will perform live. Advance tickets are $10 per person and $12 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased at www.itickets.com, Tranquility Day Spa & Salon or Tranquility Design Academy.  All concert attendees will receive a Tranquility gift card valued at $25. Food will be available for purchase (no alcohol allowed) and activities will be featured like a mechanical surfboard, bungee run, joust and bounce house. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life to be held on May 9 and 10 in Manassas, Va. Sponsors include, Tranquility Day Spa & Salon who is offering a grand prize winner a complete Tranquility makeover, New Jersey-based, Masque Sound, providing sound equipment and sound technicians and Nashville-based ST8MNT, who created design and web site services.

"Tranquility's goal is to raise $10,000 for the American Cancer Society, and unfortunately, almost everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer, and we’re hoping to create a spectacular event to help us move a little closer to finding a cure" said Gloria Harding, founder and owner of Tranquility Design Academy and Tranquility Day Spa & Salon in Manassas and Haymarket, Va.

"My dad was a 27-year cancer survivor and then he unexpectedly passed away in 2007, we later found out from stomach cancer," said Ashley Allen, team leader at Tranquility Day Spa & Salon in Manassas.
"We wanted to pay tribute to my dad's memory and to all those who struggle with cancer; the concert was a way to encourage young adults and parents to take an active role in finding a cure for cancer," said Allen. Together with her mother, Ellen Holm and Courtney Klimson from Masque Sound, Allen has donated her time and energy in organizing and planning the concert.
