TRANQUILITY HONORS CANCER PATIENTS AT RELAY
FOR LIFE
MANASSAS, VA–May 15, 2007–
Members of the Tranquility Day Spa & Salons and the Tranquility
Design Academy teamed up at American Cancer Society's Relay for
Life of Manassas, 2007 on May 11 to remember those lost to cancer
and celebrate those who survived.
Tranquility recruited 25 members to join their team, the second
highest number of recruitments of all the participating teams at
RFL of Manassas, and raised over $1,500 in donations to the American
Cancer Society.
The Tranquility Team took time to reflect on how cancer has impacted
each of their lives in one way or another and to honor and remember
those affected by it directly.
"I walked at Relay for Life in memory of my grandmother who
died of cancer. I wanted to raise money so that I could support
the cancer patients of today in their battle for survival and help
prevent cancer in the future," says Beth Burling, student of
Tranquility Design Academy in Manassas, Virginia.
RFL is an overnight event where participating teams walk or run
around a track throughout the evening rotating shifts, trying to
keep at least one member of their team on the track at all times.
The continuous effort of each team represents the continuous effort
in the fight against cancer, and Tranquility felt it important to
show their support for this cause.
