TRANQUILITY SPRINGS INTO COLOR…
Tranquility Students and Stylists Now Offer Newest Hair Coloring Techniques
MANASSAS, Va., -- Tranquility Day Spa & Salon and Tranquility Design Academy's team of stylists and students are now on board with the latest in hair coloring techniques offering Wella Expressionism Color Collection, which ranges in color concepts from tone-on-tone, warm metallic tones of amber and bronze, to natural harmonized base shades with strong accent colors, like apricot and roses. The four color techniques are called Mineral Splendor, which is elaborate color techniques with seamless edges and interlocking curved angles, great for bob lines; Wonderland shows soft and flowing color with no hard lines, perfect for long hair; Industrial Beauty highlights non-uniform color with linear lines and high visibility color placement, ideal for short Victoria Beckham-style looks; and Couture Allure captures solid color with a hidden dimension that can be shown when chosen which is best on medium length hair. The "new black" has nuances of purple, green or blue-green and the Couture Allure collection has pure tones that are dense and saturated, while the reds range from velvet violets to bright cherries. "Continual education provides a constant flow of inspiration to our team because in order to offer the best services, you have to be up-to-date on the latest and greatest for the season," said Gloria Harding, owner and founder of Tranquility Day Spa & Salon and Tranquility Design Academy in Manassas, Va. "When a salon client sits down in our chair and asks us, 'what’s new?'; we need to have the answer because it's our responsibility as hair stylists to keep up with the latest hair trends," Harding added.
"One of the things I love most about being a Tranquility team member is the continuous educational opportunities," said April Briggs, Tranquility team member and 13-year veteran hairstylist. "I have worked in other salons where education is not a focus and as a result the stylists get bored and burned out, rather than motivated with new ideas," Briggs added.
Tranquility Design Academy is noted for its creative 10-month teaching curriculum for future hair stylists by introducing students to a Fine Art Foundation Workshop that trains stylists to view clientele with the critical eye of an artist along with a creative edge. Not only does the academy focus on the basic foundations of cosmetology school, but more than 75 percent of its courses lead the trainees to harness their own positive energy, skills and talents to realize and maximize their full potential not only to be expert hair stylists, but as compassionate, caring human beings who have been taught to nurture their self-esteem and self-confidence. Harding is a firm believer in "paying it forward."
"By teaching students to realize their own potential, we're teaching our stylists to realize the maximize potential of our clients, whether they need a great haircut, a soothing massage or a relaxing pedicure," said Harding. "Excellent product and service is a given, but providing a deeper sense of healing and rejuvenation for our clients is the ultimate goal for Tranquility," added Harding.
