TRANQUILITY DAY SPA AND SALON HOLDS CHARITY EVENT FOR LOCKS OF LOVE

Seven Hundred and eleven inches of hair is what was cut off and will be donated to Locks of Love from Tranquility Day Spa and Salon in Manassas Virginia. "The voluntary efforts of the Tranquility Team never ceases to amaze me" states Gloria Harding, the owner and founder of Tranquility in Manassas, Haymarket and The Design Academy. Compassion is one of the cornerstones of success at Tranquility, their definition: Compassion-shown always to those learning and growing. An awareness of those in need in our own community and a commitment to helping them through our success.

The event that was held at their Manassas location on Sunday September 16th, 2007 was inspired by 2 people. A friend of Tranquility Karen Warnecki and a Tranquility Stylist, Carly Brown.

"Carly's enthusiasm for wanting to hold a charity event for Locks of Love
and Karen's desire to honor the memory of her daughter Kylie Warnecki is what inspired our event on Sunday" says Gloria Harding.

One of the comments heard around the salon that day was in reference to the courage of the many young girls that came in to donate their hair. They each had a story of what motivated them to come and participate on Sunday, for some it was the encouragement of family members and others had a friend or relative whose life had been touched by cancer and felt this was a way they could give back. The grand totals for Sunday were 711 inches of hair and $2,500 in donations to the Locks of Love organization.

Complimentary Locks of Love Haircuts can be done anytime at the Tranquility Design Academy in Manassas 10388 Festival Ln. suite 101 703-257-4911
