Ranking Adds to Manassas' Reputation As a Great Place to Live
(Manassas, VA) Tranquility Day Spa & Salon
of Manassas is featured in the August 2002 issue of Washingtonian
Magazine's "50 Great Salons and Stylists." The magazine
identifies Tranquility as one of its picks for the area's top 10
salons, a rare choice for a salon located in Washington's outer
suburbs.
The honor for Tranquility falls quickly on the
heels of Washingtonian's April 2002 issue, which designated Old
Town Manassas as one of the area's best places to live.
"We are thrilled," said Wayne Harding, who owns Tranquility
with his wife, Gloria. "We're proud to be in company with some
of the top-quality salons on the Washingtonian list. The magazine
hasn't really gone past the Beltway in its previous rankings, but
the 2002 list recognizes that there are excellent salons all over
the Washington area.
Tranquility, already a thriving salon, has seen
a significant boost in business since Washingtonian hit the stands
in late July. The salon has received as many as 20 calls per day
from prospective clients who read about Tranquility in the 50 Great
Salons list. Because Tranquility maintains an active and rigorous
employee training program, the salon and day spa has been able to
serve the new guests efficiently.
"If the Washingtonian article brings
people to Tranquility for the first time, that's terrific,"
said co-owner Gloria Harding. "What is important to us
is that our clients enjoy quality services in a relaxing, professional
environment once they come to Tranquility. That's what brings our
clients back to the salon and the spa over and over again."
The magazine article and increased business come
at a great time for Tranquility, which is planning to open its newly
expanded salon and day spa at Portsmouth Station by late September.
The expansion will essentially double Tranquility's client service
area. Tranquility Day Spa & Salon offers a full range of salon
services, including hair care, color, texturizing, and cosmetic
services. Spa services include facials, eye treatment, waxing, body
