Things To Know Before Waxing
When you make an appointment for a body waxing service, please make sure you have a quarter inch of growth or generally speaking 2-3 weeks of growth by date of the appointment. This will ensure a successful service. One or two days before the scheduled appointment, you should exfoliate the area that is to be waxed. The day of the appointment, you should avoid using a moisturizer. Be sure not to tan 24-48 hours before waxing-as it increases sensitivity. If you are using Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, Renova, blood thinners, alpha hydroxy products or have high anti-biotic use, you may not be a good candidate for a waxing service. Certain physical conditions such as diabetes, pregnancy and a pre-disposition to cold sores may also cause heightened sensitivity.
Carolina Humanez received her medical assistant certificate and worked for four years with a chiropractor. During that time she felt the desire to help patients with their pain. So she went back to school and earned her certification as a massage therapist. She specializes in Therapeutic and Deep Tissue Massage. She loves to bring healing to her clients through massage and help them experience pain relief, cleansing of toxins and relaxation.
Carolina has been with Tranquility since 2013. She is an asset to our team! She loves working at Tranquility because of the friendships among the team. “It is peaceful here – I can leave my problems outside and relax at my job!”

Nicole Overton has been relaxing people with massage for over ten years. Massage was definitely a calling for her. She loves what she does. She joined the Tranquility Team as an intern in February 2005 and started as a full-time massage therapist in October 2005. Nicole is certified in many different modalities including Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Pregnancy, Hot Stones, Pressure Point Therapy and stretching. She focuses on using a combination of modalities to provide the perfect therapeutic massage for each individual. She loves educating clients on what they can do to maintain homeostasis (a balanced and relaxed body).

Leslie has been with Tranquility Day Spa and Salon since August 2011.
She attended Avenue 5 Institute in Austin, TX receiving her Esthetics license in August
2009. After moving back to Northern VA, she attended The Esthetic Institute in Tysons
Corner, VA where she obtained her Master Esthetics license in July 2015.
Leslie is highly trained in a vast range of skin treatments, from Spa Facials to
Microcurrent. Performing Anti-Aging treatments are her favorite.
She believes that educating her clients on skincare and the best treatment plan is the
first step to long-lasting skin health. She believes in continuing education by attending
classes at the International Dermal Institute.
Leslie loves working as a Master Esthetician because she feels she can truly impact
someone’s life. Just by spending an hour with them and giving them that time to
unwind and decompress, which allows them to feel good about doing something for
themselves. She loves making lasting relationships and understanding each persons

In continuing her passion for women’s health and wellness, she obtained her master’s degree in Nursing and is now a Board Certified Family
Nurse Practitioner.
Lindsay has trained with one of the top educators in the field of Aesthetics Rana Kennelly at the Confidence Bar in Chicago. She is certified in neuromodulators (Botox) and hyaluronic acid fillers. She lives in Haymarket with her husband Mike, her kids Ben and Delaney, and goldendoodle Henry.

Katie graduated with her Associate Degree in Nursing from St. Elizabeth's College of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the State University of New York at Utica. Katie grew up and went to school in upstate New York. She relocated with her family to Northern Virginia in 2018. She strongly believes in helping guests achieve their skin health goals with all of her experience.
She speaks four languages- English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu to support diversified accommodations.
